1. In the word “agape”, the meanings of Eucharist and love intertwine.

On 29 January, in particular, we invite our communities to ‘remember’ during the Eucharistic Celebration of the Total Body of Christ present in so many people and in families that still suffer because of the disease of leprosy, with the hope and wish that the Eucharist, the actualisation and expression of the saving love and solidarity of God for us and for all men, becomes a spring of our greater love and solidarity towards people suffering from, and sick with, leprosy, a spring that is able to build up a more just, a more fraternal, mankind, a mankind at peace.

Le dimanche 29 janvier en particulier, j’invite nos communautés à « faire mémoire », dans la célébration eucharistique, du Corps Total du Christ présent dans tant de personnes et dans tant de familles qui souffrent encore du fait de la lèpre, avec le souhait que l’Eucharistie, actualisation et manifestation de l’amour et de la solidarité salvatrice de Dieu pour nous et pour tous les hommes, devienne la source d’un amour et d’une solidarité plus grande de notre part envers les personnes qui souffrent et les malades atteints de la lèpre, source capable de construire une humanité plus juste, plus fraternelle et en paix.
